Tomorrow, in Australia, Catholics enter the Second Assembly of the Plenary Council (3-9 July 2022). It is a significant period of discernment and decision-making that follows four years of planning, meeting, reflection and prayer.
I wonder how the Plenary Council will lead us further along the path of Catholic-Jewish relations which began at the Second Vatican Council.
In the mean time, I encourage you to read some heartfelt words that capture the public and private dimensions of ecclesial change. They are from a presentation by Columban missionary priest Rev Dr Patrick McInerney SSC. Through a blend of scholarship and human story, Patrick relates some of his personal journey of walking the path of Christian-Jewish reconciliation.
